Splendid and grand construction of the Plaza de Elvas situated on a large elevated hill north of Elvas. Outstanding example of military architecture of the century. Eighteenth century and considered by many historians as one of the most powerful bulwark fortresses in the world.

This fortress is in decay and needs restoration.
